Welcome to Clever Bee Thrift: Funding Our Bee Yard One Thrifted Find at a Time 🐝

 Hi! We're David and Becky, the husband-and-wife team behind Clever Bee Thrift.

What started as a love of treasure hunting and a fascination with honeybees has turned into a fun way to support one of our favorite hobbies—beekeeping.

Right now, we have four busy hives in our backyard bee yard. My husband handles most of the beekeeping, from hive inspections to keeping our colonies healthy and thriving. Meanwhile, I'm usually the one digging through thrift stores, estate sales, and secondhand shops searching for hidden gems to resell.

Every dress, vintage treasure, and unique find we sell helps fund our growing bee yard. The money we make goes right back into our bees, helping us purchase equipment, supplies, and improvements for their home.  You can find our finds on eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, and Depop!

While our bees do produce honey, we currently don't sell our raw honey. Instead, we enjoy sharing it with friends, family, neighbors, and members of our local community. For us, beekeeping is about caring for pollinators, learning something new every season, and enjoying the sweet rewards along the way.

We're currently dreaming big! Our future plans include creating a fenced-in bee yard, building a dedicated Honey House for extracting and storing honey, and adding tools and equipment that will make caring for our bees even better. And if all goes well, we'd love to expand with a few more hives.

Each week, we'll bring you updates from the bee yard, showcase some of our favorite thrifted finds, and share the successes, challenges, and lessons we learn along the way.
